  • Council Tax Going Up — Here's What High Peak Residents Will Pay

High Peak Borough Council confirms increase as budget pressures mount across Derbyshire

From April, High Peak residents will pay more in council tax.

High Peak Borough Council has approved a 2.99% rise for 2026-27 — the maximum the government allows.

For a Band D property, that's an extra £6.70 a year. Your total bill lands at £230.89.

Bands A, B, and C pay less. Band D is the benchmark most bills are calculated from — check your bill to see where you sit.

Council home rents are going up too. The average weekly rent rises by £4.62 — from £94.86 to £99.48. That's a 4.8% increase.

The council says the rises are needed to protect local services as costs climb and central government funding tightens.
