High Peak Borough Council confirms increase as budget pressures mount across Derbyshire |
From April, High Peak residents will pay more in council tax.
High Peak Borough Council has approved a 2.99% rise for 2026-27 — the maximum the government allows.
For a Band D property, that's an extra £6.70 a year. Your total bill lands at £230.89.
Bands A, B, and C pay less. Band D is the benchmark most bills are calculated from — check your bill to see where you sit.
Council home rents are going up too. The average weekly rent rises by £4.62 — from £94.86 to £99.48. That's a 4.8% increase.
The council says the rises are needed to protect local services as costs climb and central government funding tightens. |
